CCM RANKED #2 IN CNBC’S 2015 TOP 100 WEALTH MANAGEMENT FIRMS IN THE U.S.
This week, we were delighted to learn that CNBC ranked Carlson Capital Management as one of the top wealth management firms in the nation. This type of recognition is particularly gratifying for us because it affirms the important work we do each day for our clients while also honoring our colleagues for their talents and commitment.
For the past 30 years, we have built CCM by nurturing trusting relationships with our clients. And while we are very pleased that these efforts are being recognized on a national level, what continues to drive us in our work is our commitment to help our clients reach their financial goals. Accolades are nice, especially when they are unsolicited and come from an outside objective source; but the day after day, year after year and decades long relationships that have been developed with our clients is what is most rewarding. The fact that our client relationships span years and generations is truly the best affirmation we receive.
Our thanks to our clients for the trust they place in us every day. We will continue to work hard to earn that trust and to aspire to be one of the nation’s premier wealth management firms.
June 4, 2015, CCM Included in CNBC Top 100 Wealth Manager List: The colleagues of Carlson Capital Management are very excited and honored to be recognized as #2 in yesterday’s CNBC 100 Top Fee-Only Wealth Managers list. We want to acknowledge that we are considered a “fee-based” firm according to the CFP Board’s definition. Our ADV and our website clearly state that we are “fee-based,” and we do not hold ourselves out as being “fee-only.” We are considered “fee-based” even though we provide a fee-only investment platform to our clients, only because the owners of our firm also own ViaForte, a wealth strategy and insurance advisory firm that provides insurance products for which a commission can be provided. We are transparent about this connection, and we are proud to be able to offer clients insurance through ViaForte when the situation and financial planning need merits this solution. Ultimately, we are honored when our colleagues are recognized for the work we do with our clients. We work hard to clearly communicate to clients and prospective clients in a highly transparent manner, and do not want inclusion in this ranking to mislead anyone into thinking we are not being forthright with our fee status.
According to their website, CNBC published Top 100 Wealth Management Firm rankings in 2014 and 2015. CNBC partnered with Meridian-IQ to create their 2015 listing. Firms were scored on a variety of categories and each category’s score was weighted according to a proprietary formula to reach a final ranking. CNBC shares their methodology here: cnbc.com/id/102688120. CCM did not apply for consideration for this ranking. CCM has not paid fees related to receiving this ranking and CCM has paid no fees to CNBC to promote this ranking. CNBC independently sets its ranking criteria and CCM has no influence on the criteria.
