NORTHFIELD, MINN. (April 12, 2021) — CCM President Justin Stets, AIF®, has been named by Twin Cities Business as a Notable Leader in Finance. The award, which is featured in the April/May issue of the magazine, recognizes individuals across the state for their leadership qualities, professional achievements, and contributions to the greater community.

To know Justin is to understand extraordinary servant leadership. One of the most recent examples of his work that caught the attention of Twin Cities Business editors was on display for the community to watch as Northfield Shares, a Northfield-based foundation, hosted a virtual Evening of Entertainment. Challenged with how to engage the community to come together during a global pandemic to celebrate local artistic talent as well as raise funds to provide grants for local nonprofit organizations, Justin recalled watching Jerry Lewis telethons as a child. With this idea as a seed, he orchestrated gathering dozens of volunteers who would come together on Saturday, January 23, 2021, to present an online “Evening of Entertainment” for Northfield Shares. This free event engaged local musicians, poets, artisans, storytellers, and dancers, and resulted in more than 8,000 views and raised more than $120,000 for Northfield's community foundation.

Reflecting on Justin's leadership, CEO and Founder Greg Carlson, CFP®, says, "Justin’s nature and essence are to lead by example. He is out front creating ideas and inspiring people forward, but you are just as likely see him with sleeves rolled up doing the work at the ground level. That is the epitome of a leader."

The ways in which Justin engages deeply with clients, colleagues, and the community are too numerous to count, and we are fortunate to observe and benefit from his leadership every day. He is an outstanding example of CCM’s values in action.

The Notable series from Twin Cities Business features executives across a range of industries in Minnesota. Leaders who are profiled are nominated by their peers at work and/or community members. Neither CCM nor Justin Stets paid a fee to receive this award. CCM purchased an ad in the April/May issue of the magazine to publicly recognize and congratulate Justin on receiving the award. Twin Cities Business shared the following methodology for selecting recipients: the individuals featured did not pay to be included. Their profiles were drawn from nomination materials. This list is not comprehensive. It includes only people who were nominated and accepted after editorial review. To qualify for this list, individuals must be serving in a C-suite or senior-level finance role in Minnesota, have at least five years of experience in leadership and have shown the ability to create significant, positive, and measurable results in their field. Twin Cities Business independently honored Justin Stets.
