NORTHFIELD, MINN. (April 12, 2021) — CCM President Justin Stets, AIF®, has been named by Twin Cities Business as a Notable Leader in Finance. The award, which is featured in the April/May issue of the magazine, recognizes individuals across the state for their leadership qualities, professional achievements, and contributions to the greater community.
To know Justin is to understand extraordinary servant leadership. One of the most recent examples of his work that caught the attention of Twin Cities Business editors was on display for the community to watch as Northfield Shares, a Northfield-based foundation, hosted a virtual Evening of Entertainment. Challenged with how to engage the community to come together during a global pandemic to celebrate local artistic talent as well as raise funds to provide grants for local nonprofit organizations, Justin recalled watching Jerry Lewis telethons as a child. With this idea as a seed, he orchestrated gathering dozens of volunteers who would come together on Saturday, January 23, 2021, to present an online “Evening of Entertainment” for Northfield Shares. This free event engaged local musicians, poets, artisans, storytellers, and dancers, and resulted in more than 8,000 views and raised more than $120,000 for Northfield's community foundation.
Reflecting on Justin's leadership, CEO and Founder Greg Carlson, CFP®, says, "Justin’s nature and essence are to lead by example. He is out front creating ideas and inspiring people forward, but you are just as likely see him with sleeves rolled up doing the work at the ground level. That is the epitome of a leader."
The ways in which Justin engages deeply with clients, colleagues, and the community are too numerous to count, and we are fortunate to observe and benefit from his leadership every day. He is an outstanding example of CCM’s values in action.
