Last week saw some of the warmest March days on record in Minnesota. Despite this, no spring break vacation plans will be changed in expectation of a 2016 repeat. This is because long-term climate trends are still much better predictors than individual events. The same is true of investing, yet far more investors make changes to their portfolios because of the news and short-term “weather” events and ignore a long-term plan that controls for the climate.
