Whether they articulate them or not, most people have goals and aspirations. They could be anything from athletic, to social, to spiritual, or even investing. An explicit set of metrics is not necessarily required to determine whether or not you have reached your goal, but it when it comes to investing it certainly merits a dialogue to truly understand the path you want to be on.
