Micah Nelson is a Paraplanner at Carlson Capital Management. In this role, Micah works closely with the firm’s wealth advisors, collaborating throughout the planning process to deliver comprehensive financial plans to clients. He is responsible for collecting, tracking and monitoring related data, preparing presentation materials and assisting with portfolio management. Micah also facilitates client-advisor communications and works proactively to monitor and complete client-related servicing activities. In addition he is responsible for a strong working knowledge of and leveraging of firm technology to best serve clients.
Micah graduated summa cum laude from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical and Computational Finance. During college, Micah served as a portfolio manager for the Babson College Fund. He gained experience in the investment industry as an investment banking summer analyst, and as an investments research intern at a wealth management firm. He also worked as a research assistant on campus, advising other students on the use and application of financial research resources and techniques. Prior to enrolling in college, Micah spent a year living and studying in Oslo, Norway through the AFS-USA exchange program. Micah is an avid cyclist/triathlete and has been actively competing since he was in middle school. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, kayaking and kiteboarding. Micah grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, and has recently returned there to once again call it home.
