Personal Thoughts
A number of years ago, I was having a conversation with a client about his upcoming retirement. He was so excited and you could feel how blessed he felt to have worked in a career with a wonderful company, alongside colleagues who truly became family. We got to talking more and he told me that he really tried to live his personal and work life through inspiration from the poem “Desiderata” by Max Erhmann. I had never heard of the poem. He instantly had me pull it up on my computer and print it off. He read it with me at my desk and I could feel the enthusiasm in his voice as he explained the poem to me in his own words.
I have kept that same piece of paper from that very day in my work bag ever since. Every once in a while I take it out and re-read the messages of being humble and enjoying your achievements, but also remembering that each person has their own story. Never to judge, but to be wholesome and to listen; among many more positive principles for living life.
When I first started at CCM, everything in the poem came alive. It sparked the same excitement in me that I saw in my client that day years ago. CCM shares many of the values that I hold close, for me, and for my family. I have also come to see first-hand that it’s not just with colleagues, but with every client that walks in CCM’s doors. Each colleague at CCM is dedicated to making sure that the client has the most holistic experience. I am proud to work for a company that establishes itself on the principles of culture and trust for everyone.
